Working with the Ministry of Food on the climate conference

July 02, 2009

Social Action has been asked by the Ministry of Food to vividly tell their vision of how a sustainable farm will look like in the future. The vision will be showcased at the UN climate conference in Copenhagen in December. The vision is to show a farm that works in cycles instead of efficient liniear behavioral patterns.

A sustainable farm could mean that an area of 180 ha can provide enough food and vegetables for 10,000 people in their local surroundings – as long as the hectars are used intelligently. In order to showcase the sustainble farm, Social Action is planning to build the farm in Lego in a 4×4 meter model. The amount of crops and animals that is needed to sustainably provide the necessary food is estimated by the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences in Aarhus.
