A somewhat symbolic yet invigorating piece of news: It turns out that companies within the US now employ more workers in the industry of solar power than the industry of coal mining does. It is the Solar Foundation – an independent national non-profit organization with the ambition of spreading and increasing the use of solar power worldwide by means of research and education, who is behind the statistics. What we like about this, is their implementation of an interactive web-based map to illustrate and further this positive development. It is news and visual presentations like this that will stimulate curiosity and groom collective green-will. We hope one day (asap) to see an interactive map that in a similar way demonstrates how sustainable-energy industry jobs bests the count of fossil-energy industry jobs.
